There is this great brouhaha about an ailing Joe Biden not facing his illness and not being advised by friends and family to exit the race. Yes, it was wrong for him not to step aside. Very wrong…

And a sick and semi-senile Joe Biden would be a better president than the roaring farcissist — the blend of a fascist and narcissist — we have today.

A sick Biden would not be tearing down Medicaid, take food from hungry school kids, denying meds to help vets who served our country, creating a ruinous tariff war with our allies, bringing racism back as a retro fashion, blackmailing our legal and educational institutions, or betraying the Ukraine and risking a broader war in Europe that will end by killing their young and our own. He would not be accepting bribes or minting bitcoin to fill his coffers. Nor would Joe do everything to destroy the lives of the innocent and enhance the lives of the greediest.

A wounded Biden might eventually be removed from office by the 25th Amendment, but this is not likely to happen to DJT in the corruption of his MAGA world. The behavior that Trump has shown in his first hundred-odd days in office would qualify for impeachment in any honest body of Congress, but not in this choir of cowardice and contempt for our constitution.

No, I would rather trust my life and the lives of those I love to an ailing Joe before one day in the White House by the truly malignant Trump.

Some thoughts from Ruth

I spontaneously combusted a few days ago when a friend brought up yet another story about the reprehensibility of the hiding of Biden’s condition. The words tumbled out of me. In the context of a mainstream media that is not calling out the increasing incoherence and constant illegality of the current president and his minions, I shouted, I do not want to hear another word about what the Democrats should have done.

Last weekend, Ben Meiselas, founder of the MeidasTouch Network, wrote:

I think you can mark this week as the official moment in history when corporate news died.

It’s officially over.

Yes, they’ve been circling the drain for some time now. Since the November election, they’ve exposed themselves clearly as being agents of the Trump regime with their total capitulation and gleeful subservience. But this week in particular, their coordinated attacks on former President Biden to distract from Donald Trump’s collapsing presidency really sealed the deal.

On the same day, Aaron Parnas wrote:

…we were hit with the heartbreaking news of President Biden’s cancer diagnosis. A moment that should have united Americans in compassion and dignity.

So what did CNN do? Did they cover the story with the humanity it deserved? No. They used it as an opportunity to hawk Jake Tapper’s book and question Biden’s “mental acuity.” Minutes after the diagnosis was shared.

My friend listened quietly while I raged. When I was done, she nodded and said, “I hadn’t been looking at it through that lens.” I was sorry I’d yelled at her. But I must admit that it felt good to let some of the anger and frustration out. And I was fortunate that I did it with someone who could hold it, hear it — and not hold it against me.
