“I rise with the intention of disrupting the normal business of the United States Senate for as long as I am physically able.”— Sen. Cory Booker, March 31, 2025 (Congressional Record, Vol. 171, No. 57)

Last night, I watched the start of Cory Booker holding the Senate floor. Then I went to bed. I’ve been watching him again since I got up this morning. I am filled with gratitude and have wept numerous times. Maybe I’ll say more about the specifics another time.

For now, I want to urge you to watch if you can. It’s a historic moment and the least we can do is support him by watching. Also calling his office and thanking him, and the other senators who are stepping up and supporting him and us by asking him questions.

As Senator Ben Ray Lujan said, “This is a sacred effort.”

  1. Hi, I listened to some of Cory Booker but obviously not the entire 15 hours. I have always had tremendous respect for him, so smart, articulate, passionate, thoughtful and so on. mb

  2. Yes Ruth. It’s fantastic. I’ve watched some of it. We need more like him. I’ve always followed him because he grew up only a few miles from me
