The first is what People Power United calls “an urgent call to action to uncover how Elon Musk and his DOGE stooges are using our data.”
U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin is encouraging all US citizens to join him this week in filing formal demands for access to our personal data obtained by DOGE and Elon Musk.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has issued an injunction commanding DOGE to comply with citizen requests under the Freedom of Information Act. This law encompasses the Federal Privacy Act of 1974, which entitles any citizen to access personal information held in any U.S. government records system. Please find a fillable Privacy Act request form HERE.
The second thing has to do with writing postcards, which I first learned about from an email that’s been going around. It begins:
On March 15th, many people will mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition to him. And we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his unpopularity and failure. We will show the media and the politicians what standing with him — and against us — means…
Write one postcard. Write a dozen! Take a picture and post it on social media tagged with #TheIdesOfTrump !
Will a flood of postcards sweep him out of office? We all know the answer to that. But here’s what Marlene Kern Fischer on her Substack has this to say about it:
Trump is notoriously thin-skinned, and I think that receiving tons of hate mail will bother him, although he may claim it doesn’t… Writing is an excellent way to vent, and I have a feeling there will be a lot of venting going on through these postcards. And although stamp prices have gone up, it’s certainly cheaper than therapy.
The plan is for all of us to put our postcards in the mail on Saturday. They’re hoping that a million pissed off cards are sent to:
The President
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
And here’s number three. Today, Adam Schiff posted a video in which he lays out why he is a “hard No” on the Republican continuing resolution. Tonight, Jennifer Rubin posted a brief emergency video about Chuck Schumer’s announcement that he’s going to support the CR. “This is an outrage,” she says. “What he is doing is giving the stamp of approval to Donald Trump… he’s actually going to harm our litigation. Right now we get to argue that the Senate and the House have the purse strings. Now he’ can say, No, Chuck Schumer gave me the purse strings. We can keep doing whatever we want. Whether you’re a New Yorker or not, call Senator Schumer and tell him NO to signing the continued resolution: 202-224-3121.”
I figure it couldn’t hurt to call your Democratic senator at the same number, as well as Schumer. I don’t know about any of the other senators, but you can only reach Schumer’s office during business hours, which start at 9 a.m. Eastern.
Maybe this will be what’s needed to get momentum going to move Schumer out of the leadership position. My vote goes to Chris Murphy.

Hi Ruth, I sent 15 postcards today b/c my post office is closed Saturday and I wanted them to arrive on Sat. I just read the letter Jamie Raskin suggested sending and I plan to do that and will send to everyone I know to have them do so as well. Thx sooooo much for sending this. Best – mb

Dear Ruth,
I woke this morning with my usual anxiety about Trump and his administration. When I read your blog, I felt energized and less agitated. I will make haste to the post office for postcards, file a request for a Privacy Act form, and forward this blog to friends. I’ll encourage them to forward it to their friends. May the post office dump one million postcards on Trump’s new red Tesla!
Thank you!
