“I heard it’s not really sponsored, and instead it’s just disorganized, with no one in charge.”
Yup. I know, right? Grassroots stuff is like that.

“But anything could happen, you could get arrested.”
Oh I bet I don’t. But if I do, I could be okay with that.

“It’s a hoax, it’s not a real protest, don’t go.”
Yeah, it was real, and I went. Would recommend.

“It’s a trap, don’t go.”
Dude, why don’t you want me to go?

“There’s no central organizer.”
And yet we persisted. Hunh.

“No one will be there.”
I was there. Shit tons of people were there with me.

“This is not how to make change.”
Well, it changed me. It energized me, lifted my spirits and showed me more of the diverse world of Pro-Equality activists.

Nay-sayers can suck it. It was INSPIRING. Toddlers to grannies and every age in between. Wild hair, political nerds, NPR dads, hippies and goths. Signs and chants and flags in the rain. People taking pictures of my sign.

My friends, there will be many more pop-up protests, and we can expect the same nay-sayers to offer you reasons not to go.

I hope you go.
